Amazon.com Product Description | Ready To Connect
We’re serious when we talk about mobility and connectivity. As with other ARCHOS products, the ARCHOS 10 will allow a 24/7 connection with its built-in WiFi and its USB-enabling 3G-ready capacities. And since Internet is likely to be the number ONE reason for you to buy a Mini-PC, we decided it was important that you could do it right out of the box. Microsoft™ Internet Explorer is included of course, and with it you can access 100% of the planet’s web sites, bookmark your favorite pages, and read all the RSS feeds directly from your browser.

If you already have a computer, or if the Internet has become so appealing to you that you need to buy your first machine, then Social Networking, Chatting, and other web 2.0 web sites are out there waiting for you. It’s about sharing and be connected to people. The ARCHOS 10 will just let you do that. With SKYPE™ already installed, all you have to do is log in to your existing account, and start talking or chatting with your buddies. SKYPE™ also allows you to SEE the person you’re talking to (if they have a webcam). With the built-in 1.3 megapixel buit-in webcam, you will be seen by them as well. Additionally, SKYPE™ offers you a voice mail system where people can leave you a message, as well as the ability to send SMS messages to portable phones.
| | | And when you feel like writing rather than talking, you can still use SKYPE™ for instant messaging. With emoticons (those little signs that are so useful to express feelings) and editing status, you’re just one click away from your loved ones.

Fantastic Screen - Decent battery life - Good performance August 7, 2009 Turbodonkey (Kentucky) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased from Tiger Direct the 3 cell version. I can get 2.5 hours out of a charge with moderate use. The screen is fantastic. There is no glare unlike others with the glossy screen. I am satisfied with the performance of the machine - as all other netbooks this one has the same guts, but I think it runs faster just a bit. The included software is slightly bloaty but not too bad. You can't beat it for the price.
Great Netbook June 21, 2009 Scott Dickens (Pensacola, FL) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased the Archos 10 from Amazon for $258. At this price I couldn't go wrong. I have had the netbook for about 3 weeks now and couldn't be happier. The battery life is excellent with the 6 cell battery (5-7 hours I estimate). The only complaints I have are common to most netbooks (keyboard size, etc). The LED backlit LCD is one of the best I've seen, the screen even looks good in direct sunlight. I loaded windows 7 RC and it handles it well for web use and video streaming. Overall, I was a little worried when I ordered it that I wouldn't like it, but I have absolutely no regrets (especially for the price).
love this little guy! June 10, 2009 K. Cena (Bradenton, Fl.) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I wanted to get a netbook for my son who is starting high school next school year because they are light weight (perfect for a backpack full of textbooks)and they can do everything the big 1's can do.I researched netbooks for several months before deciding on the Archos 10 and chose it because it had everything I was looking for and so much more. It was up and running right out of the box, wi-fi works great and it has so many extras that makes my son love it. At first he wasn't happy with my choice of getting a smaller laptop but as soon as he got it he loved it. It's easy to use( web-cam, v-tuner, windows word processing, e-mail you name it) and the battery lasts for at least 5 hours before needing a charge. The keyboard is a bit smaller and he doesn't have small hands but he's getting the hang of it fast. I have been telling everyone what a great computer this is and would recommend it to anyone who needs a lighter laptop that's much easier carry around. It doesn't have a built in cd/dvd reader/ writer but you can easily get one on Amazon or Best Buy for as little as $50, it just plugs into 1 of the 3 usb ports and your set.
Decent option in the netbook market, offers more than most May 29, 2009 TroN 2.0 (Oregon, USA) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
The Archos 10 is a re-branded Hasee netbook computer. It's Archos' first entry into the somewhat new and booming netbook market. The hardware is pretty much what you get in netbooks right now, unless you spend $900 on the Sony P (which is a powerful and sexy device), but who wants to spend $900 on a netbook?
What you get in software is not standard, you get a $50 credit for the Archos Media Club (movies), and while the list of movies is short and some are quite old, there are some decent titles on there, and free is a good thing. You also get IBM Lotus Symphony for office type work. 50 free songs and one free audiobook when you sign up with emusic, and a free anti-virus program that works quite well.
My wife has a HP mini and out of the two the main difference is software on the Archos, and that I paid nearly $100.00 less on Amazon for the Archos.
Here are the pros and cons:
Pros: $50 movie credit, free software, free music deal, nice crisp display. Large Hard Drive, bigger than most netbooks have, this is a great feature since you are most likely going to be using it for movies and music.
Cons: Keyboard is miniaturized, making it difficult to type on. Number keys slightly offset from regular keyboards, so if you're a typer you will hit the wrong number all the time.
Touchpad doesn't have the typical scroll feature found on other netbooks and laptops, you'll have to use the up down arrow keys or tap the up/down arrows at the edge of the screen.
Overall I would recommend this netbook, you're not likely to be doing heavy typing on it anyway, and for the price you will be hard pressed to get this much with another manufacturer.
