HP iPAQ 2215 Pocket PC Review April 8, 2010 Lyle L. Looger (Austin, Texas) It looks like a great product, however the stupid shipper (Purple Lady) did not send the owners manual, and I cannot get it to work with Windows 7 Professional. To buy a manual online cost $45.......on top of the price I paid for the original unit. Bad investment all the way around.
And, unit and this technology is so old, not much useful information is available on the web.
iPaq 2215 Pocket PC August 25, 2009 NancyT2U 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my first time using any sort of palm device. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I bought used. It has been a good learning device for me. I had to download the manual which was not a problem. I did not realize that I would loose ALL information if the battery went dead. The battery will go dead even when the unit is off. The unit is hard to turn off. It leaves a ghost on the screen when it is not all the way off and I still struggle with this. I guess I just haven't learned the proper sequence to accomplish full turn off. It has left me high and dry more than once when I thought I had turned it off and just run down the battery instead. There is a backup feature but it is not automatic on this version. I am fairly tech savvy but this still trips me up from time to time. Perhaps it is a quirk of this particular older device or perhaps it is just me.
There are several apps I will never use but they can be stored in the background. The price was right, the features are good. I would probably buy a more recent model where some of these glitches have been resolved by newer technology. This is an okay device with older technology. If you don't mind fiddling around with it, then it's a good buy used. If there is a new model still out there, I would not pay more for it. Put your money in something more tech friendly and up to date.
HP is the best for me February 15, 2009 Kurt Hotelling (Mountains of Western NC) Being a fan of HP since the heyday of the HP Laserjet II printers, I researched this product carefully -- every company can have stumbles and such -- but HP lives on in my reality with a winner with this model among their multitude of Pocket PCs. It does everything it's supposed to, and more. Count me a satisfied customer!
HP iPAQ 2215 review February 12, 2009 D. Nelson (WA) The used iPAQ I ordered was a replacement for one I had used for years. It arrived within a week and was in excellent shape and functioned perfectly. It came with a very nice leather case that I was not expecting. I would definitely purchase from this seller again.
HP iPAQ 2215 Pocket PC December 12, 2008 P. Argento (Lake George, New York) A great little item. If you want to keep your phone a phone, and still keep the rest of your important information and appointments at the tip of your fingers, this is the way to go. Compatable with just about everything, it does all the same work as the rest of the pocket PC's for Hundreds less.
A great investment.
