This is a great item. I think everyone with a reader needs one of these.

I was hoping to compensate for the lack of a backlight on my PRS-505 Sony Reader. Unfortunately, this product fails miserably and was a big disappointment. It obfuscates the reader's text because one side is textured to disburse the light from the weak LED lights embedded in the spine of the apparatus. You are much better off holding a flashlight in your teeth. The only good things I can say about the item is that the build quality, as far as materials, is good. That's the only thing that kept me from giving it one star. Don't buy one of these. Get yourself one of the kind that have a little light that shines down on the face of the reader without obscuring your view.

My wife just loves her Sony PRS505 reader but wanted to be able to illuminate the reader at night. We tried a clip on device, but it generated too much glare. Then we saw the Sony cover with light in a Sony retail store. It was really neat but expensive. Nevertheless, we found one much cheaper on the web, even though they are fairly scarce. The cover with light is a great accessory for the PRS505.

Works great..a bit heavy/clumsy but until the makers of these products produce a backlit screen this works very well.

This cover with light is a must have. I love to read before I go to sleep but felt guilty leaving the light on to read while my husband is trying to go to sleep. No more, with this book light that is custom made for the sony reader I can read anytime without a book light that falls off the book everytime you move. Also great for those long trips that run into the night. If you have a sony reader the next thing you need is this light cover. If the kindel had a book light like this they would probably sell more. It's great.
